The exhibition symbolically entitled 'ARTiJA has been established with the scope to offer Kragujevac, the fourth largest city in Serbia and important University hub, a distinguished fine art event which will turn it into a new artistic center on the European cultural map.
Its principal idea is paper to be the exhibition’s main subject: paper as inspiration, medium, support, experiment... The exhibition aims to provide full-scale review: from classic, traditional approaches to working on paper (drawing, print), through experiment (use of unusual media and techniques), to new forms of artistic expression (mixed media). Thereby, the Biennial 'ARTiJA is evolving into representative event founded on creative, experimental and developmental aspects of art.
Accordingly designed and adapted to the present moment this international event organized by the institution Memorial Park “Kragujevački oktobar“ and carried out by the City Gallery “Mostovi Balkana“ came to light.
The exhibition has been held in the City Gallery Mostovi Balkana, Gallery of the National Museum and Kontakt Gallery of the Students Cultural Center.
It is features 112 artists with 120 art works from Japan, Canada, Mexico, Great Britain, France, Italy, Poland, Russia, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Serbia etc.
The display is open until August 15th, 2018.
